题目:  Geometric and Electronic Structure of Organic Molecular Mixtures

摘要:

The electronic structure of organic-organic blends is strongly affected by their mixing behavior. We distinguish the following extreme types of mixing behaviors: Phase separation, solid solution (statistical mixing) and molecular complex (ordered mixing). The type of mixing behavior depends both on the steric compatibility of the two involved compounds as well as on their interaction strength.

Structural data obtained by X-ray diffraction from mixtures of diindenoperylene (DIP) with pentacene (PEN), Fullerene (C60) and perfluoro-pentacene (PFP) are presented to illustrate the different types of mixing behaviors. In addition, UPS data from similar mixtures are presented. Dependent on the mixing behavior of the blends the ionization energy as well as the spectral shape of the HOMO level can be changed compared to the pure compounds properties.
