题目Macroscopic-Scale Synthesis and Assembly of Nanoscale Building Blocks and Their Applications

摘要:

With fast developing in nanoscience and nanotechnology, it has been a great challenge on how to synthesize high quality nanoscale building blocks in macroscopic-scale and assembly them into macroscopic assemblies with diverse functions. In this talk, we will report a macroscopic-scale synthesis of high quality tellurium (Te) nanowires, then we discuss the stability of freshly prepared ultrathin Te nanowires and their enhanced reactivity towards other functional one-dimensional (1D) nanomaterials based on chemical transformation and ionic exchange reactions. A so-called multiplex templating process has been proposed for controlled synthesis of a huge family of functional ultrathin nanowires using such tellurium nanowires as template. The versatility of this templating process, scalable assembling process as well as the large-scale synthesis can together enhance the application reliability of these functional 1D nanostructures. In addition, we discuss how to assemble these 1D nanoscale building blocks into 2D ordered assemblies, 3D macroscopic-scale assemblies, as well as their functionalities. Ordered ultrathin nanowire thin films and hetero-nanowire thin films can be produced on liquid-liquid interface or oil-water-air interfaces. By use of similar assembly strategies, the assemblies of 2D nanosheets or nanoplates can also be realized. These macroscopic-scale assemblies based on nanoscale building blocks should find broad applications in different fields.

Prof. Shu-Hong Yu is the Cheung Kong Chair Professor of Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), P.R. China. He serves as the Director of the Division of Nanomaterials and Chemistry, Hefei National Laboratory for Physical Sciences at Microscale, USTC, and the Deputy Dean of the Suzhou Institute for Advanced Study, USTC. He was appointed as Group Leader of the Partner Group of the Max-Planck Society and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, USTC, from 2005 to 2009. He was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2013 and now serves as a General Secretary and a Council member of the International Solvothermal Hydrothermal Association (ISHA) since 2010. His research interests include bio-inspired synthesis of nanostructures, self-assembly of nanoscale building blocks, nanocomposites, their related properties and applications. He has authored or co-authored 360 refereed journal publications, and 17 invited book chapters. His work has been cited more than 14,927 citations (H index = 66, named as a Highly Cited Researcher in 2014 by Thomson Reuters (ISI Web of Knowledge). He served as an associate editor for CrystEngComm (2011-2013) and Materials Research Bulletin, and on the editorial advisory board or advisory board of journals Accounts of Chemical Research, Chemistry of Materials, Chemical Science, Materials Horizons, Nano Research, CrystEngComm, Particle & Particle Characterization System, and Current Nanoscience. His recent awards include the National Natural Science Award (2nd Class, 2010), the Roy-Somiya Medal of the International Solvothermal and Hydrothermal Association (ISHA) (2010) and Chem. Soc. Rev Emerging Investigator Award (2010).

俞书宏,安徽合肥人,中国科学技术大学教授,博士生导师,教育部长江学者奖励计划长江特聘教授(2006-)、国家杰出青年基金获得者(2003-)、新世纪百千万人才工程国家级人选(2006-)、国家重大科学研究计划项目首席科学家(2010-2014)、英国皇家化学会会士(2013-)。1984-1988年获得合肥工业大学无机化工专业学士学位,199810月获中国科学技术大学化学系无机化学专业博士学位,1999—2002年分别在日本东京工业大学和德国马普学会胶体与界面研究所从事研究工作,2002年入选中国科学院引进国外杰出人才。主要从事聚合物控制晶化与仿生材料、纳米结构单元宏量制备及组装体功能、新型能源转换材料及应用等研究。在Nature Materials, Chem. Rev., Acc. Chem. Res., Chem. Soc. Rev., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Adv. Mater.等国际期刊上发表SCI论文370余篇,其中被SCI论文引用14,928次,H因子66,近十年有二十四篇论文被ISI评为高度被引用论文。曾获2010年度和2001年度国家自然科学二等奖(分别为第一和第五完成人)、2014年汤森路透中国引文桂冠奖-高被引科学家奖、入选全球高被引科学家(Highly Cited Researchers 2014)、国际水热-溶剂热联合会Roy-Somiya奖章、英国皇家化学会《化学会评论》新科学家奖、第十届中国青年科技奖、2013年全国优秀博士论文指导教师、2007年国家杰出青年基金获得者终期评估特优奖等荣誉。

担任合肥微尺度物质科学国家实验室纳米材料与化学研究部主任、中国科大苏州威尼斯人游戏网站副院长、国际溶剂热-水热联合会国际理事会秘书长和理事会执委、国家自然科学基金委第十三和第十四届化学科学部专家评审组成员、安徽省化学会理事长、中国化学会纳米化学专业委员会副主任等。担任国际期刊CrystEngComm副主编(2011-2013), Materials Research Bulletin副编辑(2010-)。担任国际期刊Accounts of Chemical Research, Chemistry of Materials, Chemical Science, Materials Horizons, Nano Research, CrystEngComm, Particle等国际顾问编委、执行编委或编委,《科学通报》(特邀编辑)、《无机化学学报》、《化学通报》、《Chinese Chemical Letters》等期刊编委等,曾担任国际期刊CrystEngComm副主编(2011-2013), 曾担任国际期刊Adv.
