Multicolored fluorescent quantum-dot?(QD)-decorated silicon nanowires (SiNWs) are easily prepared by a one-pot microwave-assisted synthesis. The as-prepared SiNWs are highly luminescent and are well-suited to long-term immunofluorescent cellular imaging.
