Presenter: Dr. Esther Levy (Editor-in-Chief, Advanced Materials Technologies)
Topic: Materials science publishing: An Advanced perspective
Time: 2:00pm, May. 20th (Monday)
Location: Conference Room B, BLDG 909-1F
A highly competitive research environment with increasingly limited research funding has created the imperative to publish in high impact journals or “perish”. In this presentation, the Advanced Materials family of journals is introduced and a snapshot provided of current trends and challenges. Insight into the peer review and editorial decision-making process is given from the perspective of the Advanced Materials editorial office. Tips are presented on the aspects of manuscript preparation and presentation to focus on from the editor’s and reviewer’s perspective. Actions you can take to maximize the visibility of your work post-publication are highlighted and ethical considerations are examined.
Dr. Esther Levy completed her Ph.D. in supramolecular chemistry at Cambridge University (UK) in 1997.
